Samuel Adams is looking to its fans to help create their next brew, giving Facebook users an opportunity to create their own beer with a fancy app that allows you to choose everything from the color and clarity to the flavor of the malt and hops.  Sam Adams simply says it will “take customers’ collective feedback and create a really great beer” so head on over the the Crowd Craft Project and create your ideal brew.  IPA anyone?

Samuel Adams is starting off the new year with one of the best 12 bottle variety packs available.  The Brewer’s Choice Variety Pack will be hitting shelves this month featuring 6 different Sam Adams brews.  Included are Boston Lager, Alpine Spring, Irish Red, Black Lager, Mighty Oak Ale and Whitewater IPA.  Three of the beers are new:  Alpine Spring, an unfiltered Helles lager; Mighty Oak Ale, an amber ale aged on oak chips; and Whitewater IPA, a Belgian-style Wit brewed with five hop varieties from Australia & the U.S. along with apricots, orange peel and coriander.  Mighty Oak is the winner of the 2011 Beer Lovers Choice Contest and is exclusive to this 12-pack.

Sam Adams is a brewery that has taken a step beyond its microbrew beginnings and is sold nationwide in nearly every beer retailer from gas stations to your local bottle shop.  Still technically a craft brewery, it’s not the first brand to come to mind when thinking of specialty beers due to its rapid growth and fantastic success throughout the country.  With branding being ever more important when dealing not just with beer, but nationally recognized and widely available beer, Sam Adams decided to remind the craft beer drinkers of their roots and release a line of 4 small batch creations that are mysteriously absent from their website.
